
Sachem North Boys Cross Country: Sachem 27, Connetquot 30 ... Sachem was lead by first place finisher Colin Eberhardt, who earned his first cross country race win with a time of 17:18 for the Sachem home 5k course. Outstanding races were turned in by Mike LoSchiavo, Anthony Coccia, James Trofa, Chris Penteck, Nick Castro, Patrick Lavan and Dylan Passarella. The key to Sachem's win was their outstanding pack which placed eight runners before Connetquot's fifth runner.
Sachem East Boys Cross Country: Sachem 21, Lindenhurst 39 ... Ryan Scarpelli won Tuesday's race in a time of 16:21 for Sachem at Belmont Lake State Park.
This past weekend the Sachem East boys cross country team traveled to historic Van Cortlandt Park in NYC for the Manhattan College Invitational Cross Country Meet. The day started off well as Tom Rascona led a strong sophomore team to a strong 7th place finish in the 53 team field. He finished second in the race in a time of 14:49 seconds over the traditional 2 ½ mile course. A little later the freshmen took to the 1.25-mile course and tore it up with a fourth place finish out of 33 teams. The frosh were paced by Gillan Faulkner, Steve Trunsovic and David Perez. In the afternoon race, Scarpelli and Zach Patsy paced the varsity team to an eighth place finish in a 35 team field. Scarpelli led the way with his ninth place finish.

On Tuesday the team traveled to Belmont Lake State Park where they took on the Lindenhurst Bulldogs. The Arrow harriers came out growling as they took a bite out of the Bulldogs and unleashed a blistering pace to outdistance their opponents by a 21 to 39 score. Once again the team was led by Scarpelli and Patsy in a 1-2 finish. Also scoring for Sachem was Franklin Perez, Tom Rascona and John Bruno.
This weekend the travels to Goddard Park, Rhode Island to compete in the Brown University Invitational.

Sachem North Girls Soccer: Sachem 3, Pat-Med 0 ... Sachem improved to 5-1 in League I play with a win over local rival Pat-Med. Freshman Leah Vasquez scored her first varsity goal and Erin McNulty made six saves in the shutout.
