Sachem East High School 2023 Valedictorian And Salutatorian Chosen

FARMINGVILLE, NY — Sachem High School East administrators recently made their picks for valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2023, according to a news release.

Siddharth Sheth has been chosen as the valedictorian, and Jada Drew is the class' salutatorian.

Sheth, a well-rounded student who shines in and out of the classroom, serves in several honor societies, including the Science National Honor Society and National English Honor Society, both of which he serves as president.

Sheth, a National Merit Scholarship Program finalist for his score on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test, is the president of the Sachem East DECA chapter, where he prepared long-term competition curricula, organized meetings of dozens of members, and developed successful fundraising initiatives.

Outside of the classroom, Sheth serves as a Leading Petty Officer with the Lt. Michael Murphy Division of the United States Naval Sea Cadets Corps, where he coordinated monthly drills and trained other cadets.

Sheth was a member of the winter track and field team for the last four years.

He has also dedicated his time volunteering to several local organizations, including the Community Solidarity Food Share and Stony Brook Orthopedic Associates.

Salutatorian Jada Drew is a highly-involved member of the school's community.

Drew, a four-year member of student government, is the class government president, who plans events for students and helps with fundraising.

Drew has excelled in the 13 Advanced Placement classes she has taken and is set to graduate with an AP Capstone Diploma as an AP Scholar with Distinction.

Drew is the vice president of the Science National Honor and English Honor societies, as well as secretary of the National Honor Society. She spends her time outside of school volunteering at local senior living facilities.

Sheth will attend the Boston University Honors Program to study biomedical engineering and Drew will be part of the Stony Brook University Honors Program where she will continue her passion for biology.
