Sachem East's Samantha Laird Commits to Fordham

Sachem East senior Samantha Laird committed to play softball at Fordham University.

Last season, the Rams finished 49-12 and made their first appearance in the NCAA Regional Finals.

“Being able to be recruited by a Top 30 Division I softball school has been the best experience of my life,” she said. “I never thought I would get to be part of such an amazing program.”

Laird, who originally gave a verbal commitment in January as a junior, has the added benefit of joining former Sachem teammate Sam Smith, who is in her freshman season at Fordham.
