Sachem Patch Flashback Page

Send us your historical critiques and photos.

Sachem Patch has displayed historic photos and many stories about the history of the area – with more to come – but we want to create a digital scrapbook with help from the community. We’re calling it Sachem Patch Flashback.

We want you to submit photos of the Sachem community, from buildings, streets and scenic areas that no longer exist or have changed drastically from years ago. Sachem Patch is a big fan of restoring history, creating history and learning about the Sachem community as best we can.

One of our Patch users said she was having a discussion on Facebook about what Holbrook’s Main Street looked like in the 1970s. They were trying to remember the name of the vegetable store that was located between Friendly Farms and Meat Farms on Main Street. None of them could remember. Maybe you can?

That’s the point of Sachem Patch Flashback … 1) to post questions about the Sachem area’s past 2) to post responses to other people’s questions and 3) share images on here in the gallery to substantiate your comments, if possible.

We’ll keep the document alive on the site forever and will repost when new and interesting information surfaces.

“How great would it be if Patch visitors could email vintage images to appear on a flashback page,” one Patch user said. “For instance, an image of a store or building that's been razed or changed substantially in appearance from 20 years ago or more.”

Well, here it goes … fire away, folks. Let’s remember the community that we live in and start posting comments and photos today!
