Sachem School Budget Passes; 2 School Board Incumbents Defeated

Residents in the Sachem School District passed a proposed 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday by a margin of 3,068 to 1,062.

The $327.2 million budget is a 1.35 percent increase over the current year and includes a 1.99 percent increase in the school tax levy, within the state's tax cap.

Larry Collins, Jim Kiernan, James Mancaruso, Alex Piccirillo and Sara Wottawa (incumbent) won seats on the school board.
