Bloods gang members are believed to have been involved in three separate shootings on Long Island Monday afternoon, including one inside an IHOP where a child in a high chair was sitting right across from where gunshots rang out.

Four people are in the hospital, all with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The first shooting occurred at the IHOP located at 339 Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma. Police received multiple calls of a shooting around 1:25 p.m. Police initially believed it was an active shooter event in progress, Suffolk Chief of Department Stuart Cameron said during a press briefing.

According to Cameron, two groups of suspected Bloods members were inside the restaurant when a man from one of the groups walked up to the other group sitting at a table. A person sitting at the table pulled out a gun and shot the man multiple times.

The man is being treated at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The shooter was arrested and numerous other people were taken into custody, but police have not released any names.

There were about 20 people inside the restaurant during the shooting, including a family with a child in a highchair.

"I want to reassure the public that this incident was a targeted shooting, this is not something where the public has to be concerned that there is someone out there who is committing a random shooting," Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said.

Several Sachem schools were placed on lockout and were dismissed later than usual as police investigated.

Less than two hours later and a few miles away, two more shootings occurred.

At about 3:15 p.m, two people were shot in a driveway at a home on Fife Drive, south of Middle Country Road, in Gordon Heights. One man transported himself to a local hospital and an ambulance transported another man.

At about the same time, a short distance away, another man was shot inside his vehicle on Judith Drive in Gordon Heights. The victim drove away and crashed his vehicle a short time later. He's also in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe the Gordon Heights shootings involved Bloods gang members or associates. Detectives are investigating to determine if those shootings are connected to the IHOP shooting.
