Sachem's Sole, Garry Selected All-State

Recent Sachem grads continue to pile up post-season honors.

Just when you think Alec Sole and Brendan Garry couldn't possibly win anymore honors as Sachem baseball players, the recent North graduates took home All-State recognition this week from the New York State Sports Writers Association.

Sole made the First Team, while Garry was selected to the Fifth Team.

Sole, who accepted a full scholarship to play at Division I Saint Louis University, hit .505 this year and recorded 28 RBI, scored 29 runs and hit safely in every game in which he appeared. He was also 6-2 on the mound with a 1.25 ERA. He won the as Suffolk County's top player in 2011 and was also All-League, All-County, All-Long Island and All-Patch.

Garry, who was named All-League, All-County, All-Long Island and All-Patch and will play at Rochester, hit .440 in 2011. He recorded 37 hits, 4 homers, 24 RBI and scored 22 runs. He had a .531 on-base percentage and only made two errors all season behind the plate. Garry was named the in Suffolk County.
