Samantha Alvino Headed to Elms College

Sachem East senior Samantha Alvino has committed to Elms College in Springfield Mass.

Alvino will play both field hockey and softball at the Division III school. She is ranked No. 38 academically at East.

"I knew choosing a college wasn't going to be easy, but as soon as I stepped onto Elm's campus I knew that's where I wanted to go," she said. "Everyone made me feel welcome especially both team's coaches and the field hockey team players.  I even got a chance to sit in on a couple of classes."

Alvino was also recruited by Ithaca, New Paltz, Frostburg State and Bridgewater State.
