Some Suffolk Services Still Offline Months After Cyberattack: Report
Remote title searches, the online sewer bill payment, and pistol permit applications are some of the services, Newsday reported.
HAUPPAUGE, NY — Some Suffolk County online services are still not up and running since the September cyberattack, Newsday reported.
Services like remote access to title searches, online payment for sewer bills, and the health department’s food manager course mobile application, as well as an app with restaurant inspection results are not online, according to the outlet.
Several online services for the public are still not functional at the police department, including the submission of pistol permit applications, Freedom of Information Law requests, false alarm management registration and the department's Shield information sharing system, the outlet reported.

Police press releases and Crime Stoppers' alerts are also not yet available online.
County Executive Steve Bellone announced most of the county's departments and services would be back online in February.

Patch has reached out to Bellone's office for comment.
Suffolk was hit with a ransomware attack on Sept. 8, forcing the county's departments nearly 20 years back to the days of paper filings.
