2019 Suffolk Police Test Results Released
A total of 13,324 candidates out of nearly 20,000 passed the exam that was given in June for the first time in four years.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — The results of the 2019 Suffolk County police officer exam were released and can be found on the Suffolk County Department of Civil Service's website. A total of 13,324 candidates out of nearly 20,000 passed the exam that was given in June for the first time in four years and as usual, the results have created a "highly competitive" environment, the police department said on its Facebook page Wednesday.
For the previous test, administered in 2015, a total of 549 people were hired off the list. Those who score a 100 or 105 on the test are automatically called to take the next step in the hiring process.
For those who scored a 95, a lottery (which can be viewed live) will be held on Jan. 22 at 9 a.m. In 2015, 2,500 applicants were chosen through the lottery to move on to the next step.

Applicants who scored below 95 on the 2015 exam were not called and preliminary factors indicate that the 2019 test is similarly competitive, the department said.
Candidates who attain a passing grade on the exam also have to pass the following qualifying tests and evaluations: medical, personality assessment, polygraph, extensive background check and physical fitness screening.
