Week 4 Preview: Sachem North vs. Longwood

Flaming Arrows host Lions in highly anticipated Division I contest.

If last week's game against West Islip was supposed to be tough, Sachem's Week 4 battle against Longwood won't make the journey any easier.

In a battle of undefeateds, Sachem and Longwood will play hardnose football for 48 minutes and most of the game will be on the ground attack.

Longwood, to this point, has really only faced one tough opponent in William Floyd, which they beat, 14-12, in Week 2. Otherwise, Pat-Med and Connetquot are not formiddable in terms of adequate competition for their line play.

Sachem, however, has faced tough opponents in Northport and West Islip, not to mention Bay Shore, who was supposed to be a stronger threat then expected with its 0-3 start to 2011.

Match-up: No. 2 Sachem North (3-0) vs. No. 3 Longwood (3-0)

Time/Venue: Saturday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium

In game battles: The only battle will be on the line. Longwood's Omari Palmer and Darius Greene are two of the top interior linemen on Long Island. Control them somehow and you control the game. Longwood will have Kavaughn Wiggins as its feature back, but Sachem has Dalton Crossan who wins that battle any day.

Next up: Sachem travels to Connetquot, Thursday, Oct. 6 at 3:40 p.m.

Stay tuned to Sachem Patch for complete coverage of the game.
