Bayport-Blue Point Chamber Card Offers Shopping Discounts

Giant coupon aims to be a win-win for residents, local businesses.

The Bayport-Blue Point Chamber has launched a new commerce initiative this year to give residents two discount options at local stores and to boost business in the two communities.

The large colorful discount coupon card, sent out to all addresses in Bayport and Blue Point, is valid until December 15 and offers $5 off on $25 purchases at nearly 20 local stores, and $10 off a $35 purchase at another nine participating stores.

“This is the first time we are doing it and we have gotten some very positive feedback.  Our merchants are thrilled and I know that many who weren't able to participate this year aer looking forward to next year,” Chamber President Kathy Heinlein told Patch.

The card was created as part of this year’s Small Business Saturday effort by the chamber.

“We are thrilled that we took Small Business Saturday and expanded it for our residents until Dec. 15. We are doing everything we can to show our wonderful community the importance of shopping local,” said Heinlein.
