Dead Cat Found Floating in Locked Cage Off LI Beach
Two brothers made the gruesome discovery Sunday. The SPCA is asking for the public's help to figure out how the cat got there.

BLUE POINT, NY – Two brothers walking along a dock at a Long Island beach made a gruesome discovery Sunday: a dead cat inside a locked cage.
The brothers spotted a small cage floating in the water at Corey Beach, according to the Suffolk County SPCA. When they pulled it out of the water, they found a dead tabby cat inside.
The door on the cage was locked.

"We are asking for the public's help to try to find the individual(s) who can share any information that they may have relating to this gruesome discovery," the SPCA said in a press release issued Tuesday.
Anyone with information is asked to call the SPCA at 631 382-7722. All calls are kept confidential.

The SPCA shared a photo of the dead cat inside the cage. It can be seen below, but be warned, it is graphic and gruesome.
