Sayville School Transforms Into ‘Polar Express’ For Magical 10th Year
Sunrise Drive Elementary turned its halls into a Winter Wonderland as students celebrated the beloved holiday tradition's milestone year.
SAYVILLE, NY — Sunrise Drive Elementary School in Sayville transformed into a Winter Wonderland last week as students celebrated the school’s 10th Annual Polar Express Day, a beloved tradition that has become one of the most anticipated events of the school year.
On Tuesday, Dec. 23, the halls of Sunrise Drive Elementary School were reimagined as a full Polar Express train experience, complete with festive décor, music and snowfall effects that brought the classic holiday story to life.
The magic began around 8:40 a.m. as students arrived to a grand entrance featuring artificial snow blowing across the doorway, holiday music filling the air, and even an elf perched on the roof to greet them. Students received golden tickets before “boarding” the train, where they were welcomed by live music performed by the school’s band teachers.
