Fire Breaks Out in Crawl Space On Holly Drive In Sayville

No injuries occurred in the fourth house fire in as many weeks.

There were no injuries in a fire that broke out in a home on Holly Drive in Sayville last month, fire officials said.

The Sayville Fire Department responded to the call around 12:15 p.m. on Dec. 21 and found smoke had filled the two-story home. After searching, firefighters located the fire, which was in a crawl space, officials said.

A hose was stretched through the front door of the home and quickly extinguished the fire, which caused minimal damage, fire officials said.

Twenty-three firefighters from Engine 1, 2, 3, 4, Rescue 6 and Safety 10 responded to the fire. One engine from the Bohemia Fire Department responded too.

According to the Sayville Fire Department, this was the fourth house fire in the last few weeks the department has responded to.
