Firefighters Battle Blaze That Engulfed Bayport Home, Arson Probes: PD

BAYPORT, NY — Suffolk County Police Arson Squad detectives are investigating a blaze that engulfed a Bayport home early Saturday morning, Suffolk County police told Patch.

Around 4:20 a.m., the Bayport Fire Department responded to a call for a structure fire on Snedecor Ave., officials said. Upon arrival, firefighters found the home and deck in flames.

Fire department officials said the residents had safely evacuated and were outside the home before they arrived.

Mutual aid was provided by Blue Point, Sayville, West Sayville, Patchogue, and Holtsville fire departments and Community Ambulance Company.
