Long Island Missing Persons Day: What You Need To Know
Check out the details of Suffolk County's first Missing Persons Day.

The Community Ambulance Company, in partnership with Suffolk County, will be hosting the first ever "Missing Persons Day" on May 18.
The weekend event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 429 Lakeland Avenue, will connect family and friends of missing persons with expert resources and services to help find and identify their missing loved ones.
"Suffolk County invites you to attend this event in an effort to help us Identify the missing and bring them home. Family, friends, communities, and organizations working to locate New York’s Missing are welcome. Come out to meet other New York families and friends who are coping with the disappearance of a loved one," according to a release.

Attendees will have the opportunity to give information, such as photos, histories and DNA reference samples, interviews with professionals/Police, and to access emotional support services. They will have the ability to get investigation case updates by the Suffolk County Police and also report someone missing.
There will be various vendors as well as lectures on Human Trafficking, Gangs in Suffolk County, DNA, and by the National Association of Missing and Unidentified Persons. For children attending activities include, child ID cards, a K9 demonstration, face painting and other safety activities.

The event is a joint initiative with Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Suffolk Legislator William Lindsay, Suffolk Medical Examiner’s Office, Suffolk County Police Department, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office and Youth Enrichment Services (YES). The event is free, open to the public and will be held at 420 Lakeland Avenue in Sayville.
Spanish speaking staff will be available at the event and access will be available for telephonic interpretation services that have the ability of more than 200 languages.
