Man Hospitalized, Seriously Injured After Car Crash In Blue Point: PD

A man driving a Jeep was seriously injured Sunday after hitting a telephone pole and overturning the vehicle in Blue Point, police say.

BLUE POINT, NY — A man was seriously injured in a car crash in Blue Point on Sunday night, Suffolk police said.

Alex Kuehn, 37, of Patchogue, was driving a 2021 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on Montauk Highway when he veered off the roadway and hit a curb at Division Avenue at around 9 p.m., police said. He continued eastbound and hit a telephone pole, overturning the jeep multiple times, police said.

The driver was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
