Incumbent Democrat Sen. Monica Martinez will be challenged by Republican Teresa Bryant in the 4th Senate District.
LONG ISLAND, NY — Voters in New York's 4th Senate District will see an incumbent challenged as they head to the polls on Nov. 5.
The candidates:
- Monica Martinez (Democrat)
- Teresa Bryant (Republican)
Incumbent Monica Martinez, of Brentwood, has a background in education and was first elected to the New York State Senate in 2018 and was re-elected in 2022 with 51.4 percent of the vote, according to Ballotpedia.

Bryant, a political newcomer, has a background in health care and is a licensed registered nurse. She resides in Central Islip.
