Sayville Fire District Honors Outgoing Chief William Roderka
The department on Saturday honored outgoing Chief Roderka and swore in the department's new leadership.
The Sayville Fire District and Sayville Fire Department on Saturday honored outgoing chief, William Roderka, for his department leadership.
"A heartfelt thanks to Chief Roderka for his service to the department and our community. Job well done, chief," the department posted on Facebook.
Walter C. Reutlinger, the incoming chief of the department, was also sworn in on Saturday, along with 1st Assistant Chief Egidio "Gene" Giacoia, and 2nd Assistant Chief Dan Karl at the Atlantis Aquarium, Riverhead.

"Best of luck to newly elected Chief of Department Walter C Reutlinger, his assistant Chiefs, and all of the officers in executing their duties and providing fire protection to our community. Stay safe," the department message said.
