Sayville Man Arrested For Hate Crimes: Police
He is charged with six counts of petty larceny as a hate crime.

SAYVILLE, NY – A 21-year-old Sayville man has been arrested for hate crimes, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, an LGBT flag was stolen from the front of Sayville Congregational United Church of Christ, located at 131 Middle Road in Sayville, on July 29. Additional LGBT flags were reported stolen from the church on Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Oct. 15, Oct. 20 and Nov. 6.
Following an investigation, Hate Crimes detectives arrested Ronald Tyler Witt at his home on Erwin Street in Sayville, at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday. Witt was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct in Patchogue and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
