Sayville School Budget, Trustee Election

Here's what you need to know before heading to the polls on May 18.

SAYVILLE, NY — Residents in the Sayville School District will head to the polls next week to cast their ballots for a proposed school budget and to elect school board trustees.

Polls will be open on May 18 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Old Junior High School.

The Board of Education is proposing a $96.9 million budget for the 2021-22 school year.

That represents a 0.08 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 0.61 percent hike in the school tax levy.

Three at-large seats are up for grabs on the Sayville Board of Education. Incumbents Keith Kolar, Carl Cangelosi and John Verdone will all be running unopposed.
