Sayville Vape Shop Ordered To Leave Main Street

The Islip Zoning Board ruled that the vape shop must find a new home.

The Islip Board of Zoning Appeals ruled that BlackWaterVapor, at 10 Main St., has one year and 99 days to find a new location, citing that the store does not comply with the town's adult use law.

The adult use law regulates businesses such as adult theaters, massage parlors and strip clubs, prohibiting the from being within 500 feet of churches, homes and parks.

The town's 2016 law-change included vape stores in the same category as the prohibited businesses - even though the store was opened in 2015.
