Police ID Man Seriously Injured On Sunrise Highway

Police say the man was outside his pickup truck when he was struck by an unknown vehicle Tuesday morning.

BOHEMIA, NY – A 53-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Sunrise Highway Tuesday morning.

According to Suffolk Police, Eric Cohen, of Port Jefferson Station, exited his 2015 Ford F350 on the right shoulder of westbound Sunrise Highway, just west of the Oakdale-Bohemia Road overpass, when he was struck by an unknown vehicle at approximately 4:30 a.m.

Cohen was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries. It's unclear why he was out of his pickup truck at the time of the crash.
