Special Weather Statement Issued For Suffolk County
BREAKING: Be prepared for a slick evening commute.

LONG ISLAND, NY — The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Suffolk County:
Snow or a rain/snow mix will continue over the next several hours and into the evening commute. Some roads may remain slushy and slick and caution should be used if traveling. Less than an inch of additional snowfall is expected.
An inch or two of snow has already fallen across the county. Two inches was recorded in Wading River at 12:10 p.m., according to weather service snow reports. At MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma, 1.2 inches was measured at 1 p.m. Less than an inch of snow was expected to accumulate in Nassau.

Wednesday Afternoon- Rain and snow. High near 36. Northeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Wednesday Night- Rain and snow likely before 7pm, then a slight chance of snow between 7pm and 10pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 30. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Calm wind.
Friday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 47. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Friday Night- Rain likely after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday- Rain. High near 47. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
