Star Student Athlete: Sayville-Bayport's Gianna

SAYVILLE-BAYPORT, NY — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Diagnosed with scoliosis in 4th grade, this talented, driven, compassionate 8th grader plays varsity tennis for Connetquot High School. She never misses a practice or a match, always gives 100%, and is a supportive and hard-working team player.

Academically, she soars as well, consistently making the honor roll every term since she entered middle school. Outside of school, she volunteers at the local outreach, collecting food for the food pantry and running an annual Halloween candy drive, which she donates to the food pantry, too. Gianna is an amazing young lady with a good heart, on and off the court.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

Gianna has a heart as big as her smile, and she never gives up.
