Sunrise Highway Crash Leaves 4 Hurt, 1 Airlifted: Police
A car overturned after striking a tree in Great River, Suffolk police say.
GREAT RIVER, NY — Four people were injured, two seriously, in a crash on Sunrise Highway in Great River on Thursday night, Suffolk County police said.
Kevin Guzman, 19, of East Patchogue, was driving near West Club Road at about 9:50 p.m. when he lost control of the car, police said. The Toyota Camry struck the median concrete guardrail, crossed all lanes of traffic, and overturned after hitting a tree.
Guzman was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore with non-life-threatening injuries. His front passenger, Jeanaro Morgan, 19, of West Babylon, was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Patchogue for evaluation.

Two backseat passengers were seriously hurt. Carlos Encalada, 18, of Brentwood, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, and Bruce Vargas, 20, of Bay Shore, was taken to South Shore University Hospital, police said.
Another passenger, Angelo Lopez, 18, of Brentwood, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk.

All vehicles involved were impounded for safety checks, police said.
