BOHEMIA, NY – A 17-year-old girl from Selden was arrested after a hit-and-run crash that critically injured an 80-year-old woman Sunday morning, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, Christina Burns slept at the home of Francis Rogalle, located at 22 Ashford Drive in Bohemia, after attending a party at his home on Saturday night.

Burns left the home at about 6:50 a.m. on Sunday driving a 2005 Nissan Altima and, while traveling on Ashford Drive, her car left the roadway, struck a mailbox and drove across a lawn before striking Che Yeung, who was walking in the street. Burns fled the scene, police said.

An investigation by Fourth Precinct officers revealed that Burns’s car had more damage than sustained in the Nesconset crash, police said.

Fifth Squad detectives were notified and she was linked to the earlier crash, police said. Burns was subsequently charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious physical injury.

Burns was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.

Rogalle, 50, was charged with violating Suffolk County’s Social Host Law. The law provides a legal basis for holding adults responsible for knowingly allowing parties for individuals under the age of 21 to occur at a place under their control, whether or not they provide the alcohol.
