Woman Dies in Central Islip Vehicle Crash

Driver was ejected from vehicle after losing control, investigators say.

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a single vehicle crash that killed a woman in Central Islip Tuesday night.

Investigators believe Crystal Fuentes, 22, of Central Islip, was driving a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer eastbound on Motor Parkway when she lost control of her vehicle at approximately 11:50 p.m.

The vehicle left the roadway, hit a grassy area, and spun around, causing Fuentes to be ejected from the vehicle, officials said in a police report.

Fuentes was transported via Central Islip-Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she was pronounced dead.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
