29 WESTCHESTER OFFICIALS ENDORSE BOB COHEN FOR STATE SENATE

"Bob's real-world experience in managing budgets and creating jobs is exactly what we need in our state senator"

White Plains, NY-May 21...More than two dozen Westchester Republican elected officials today endorsed businessman Bob Cohen for state senate. Mr. Cohen is running as a property tax reformer in the country with the highest property taxes in the nation.

"On behalf of our entire delegation of Republican county legislators, we enthusiastically endorse Bob Cohen as our next state senator from the 37th district," said Board of Legislators Minority Leader Jim Maisano. "The years of overspending by Albany politicians has given Westchester the highest property taxes in the country. Bob's real-world experience in managing budgets and creating jobs is exactly what we need in our state senator."Β

"The unfunded mandates being passed down by Albany are crushing the budgets of our local governments," said Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin. "Albany must enact impactful reforms to its spending or the ability to deliver needed services will be seriously threatened. The only way to achieve that is by sending new people to Albany, like Bob Cohen, who will put taxpayers before special interests."

"We have an exciting opportunity to have a new representative in Albany who is deeply committed to lowering property taxes and growing the economy," said Yonkers City Councilman Michael Breen. "Bob will bring his experience as a small business owner to state government, where it is desperately needed. Westchester taxpayers would benefit tremendously with Bob as its senator."

Mr. Cohen said, "I'm so honored to receive the support from so many of Westchester's elected representatives. They have a true understanding of how the spending decisions in Albany affect local governments and property taxes and I look forward to working closely with them to reform our state. There are solutions to our fiscal problems and with the right people in office, who have the experience and independence to make the difficult decisions, we can turn New York around."
