building permit applications submitted for new supermarket on E Hartsdale Ave

construction of new Hartsdale Marketplace should start soon

GOOD NEWS—A STEP CLOSER TO OUR NEW SUPERMARKET ON EAST HARTSDALE AVE!--Building permit applications filed

I have been in touch with Louis Weisman, owner of the building on E Hartsdale Ave that will soon house the Hartsdale Marketplace, which is affiliated with the Key Foods Co-Op. The location: the former Rite Aid store.

Some excellent news. Final plan sets will be submitted to the town on Tuesday. An interior demolition permit for the marketplace was submitted to the Building Department on December 15th. Once the Building Department issues the permits construction could proceed and our much-wanted food market will be closer to opening!!!
Very grateful that the Building Dept, property owner and food market are working together so that this market will be able to serve our community. A food market on E Hartsdale Ave will be a big boost to downtown E Hartsdale Ave, will help other merchants, increase pedestrian traffic on the Avenue. Having an important anchor on East Hartsdale Ave will also help fill up vacant storefronts when there are vacancies with high quality tenants.

It’s our hope that the marketplace will open this spring if not earlier.
We’re going to work hard to revitalize the Ave in 2026.
