The Scarsdale Public library is keeping local children involved in community activities and entrenched in a love of books leading into the summer of 2012. As the school year is winding down and parents are looking for ways to keep their kids occupied during the early summer months before camp begins, the library comes to the rescue helping to keep them interested and having fun with learning!
The Scarsdale Public Library is dedicated to providing a welcoming atmosphere of acceptance with their programming for kids with special needs, where they can have fun and be themselves. The library works in conjunction with C.H.I.L.D. of Scarsdale in the planning of all of these programs.
The following outlines the upcoming interactive programs in May 2012 designed for kids of all ages and learning abilities. Some programs require registration and others are limited to Scarsdale patrons, and all registration lists will remain open on a first-come, first-served basis until class capacity is reached. If you have registered for a program and find you cannot attend, please cancel your registration by calling the children's room (914) 722-1300 x3.

Kurt has been volunteering at the Childrenβs Therapy Center in Fair Lawn, NJ for over 15 years (http://www.thechildrenstherapycenter.org/), which caters to children with various developmental disabilities. Each group he encounters has a different level of ability, and Kurt is able to gauge the different levels and change his program on the fly. The goal of all Kurtβs programs is to zero in on the childrenβs ability to participate and help them become involved with making music as much as they can. You can expect to see musical expression from widely varied levels of ability, lots and lots of smiles and some giggles too!
