The unisex collection was born a year ago when Cole rekindled her childhood love of the art of crochet. Infused with more than 20 years of practicing meditation, Cole approaches each piece as a meditation on love. The name of the collection reflects the composition of a meditation mala, or necklace, which features 108 beads. 108 Stitches is available online at www.108stitches.biz and at select boutiques.
Partial proceeds will benefit “ Let’s Get Ready” (www.letsgetready.org) an exceptional non-profit helping low-income high school students access college. The program provides instruction and guidance throughout the entire application process, including identification of financial aid/scholarship opportunities, so that low-income high school students can achieve their college dreams of matriculation. The program places its participants in small classes of no more than five students, with collegiate volunteers serving as coaches. These coaches provide not only SAT instruction, but also the inspiration, enthusiasm and confidence to go to college.
