We are all asking ourselves if there is anything we can do to help comfort the children of Newtown CT, any way to help the healing.
With this in mind, Julia B. Fee Sotheby's International Realty has joined with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, participating in Operation Fuzzy Wuzzy II, in support of the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. We are collecting teddy bears, with the aim of having a bear for every child so they can have some comfort when they return to school. Teddy bears can be dropped off any day between 9am-5pm at the Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty offices at 4 Westchester locations:

The late Adam Johns, a former Marine, organized the first Operation Fuzzy Wuzzy in support of the children of Bezian, Russia, after a school shooting there in 2003. His mother, Deborah Johns, has organized this effort in his memory. Her friend and Connecticut columnist Julie Butler has commented: “I realize the Operation Fuzzy Wuzzy – giving a child a teddy bear – may only be a small act of comfort for these traumatized children, but I think any and all acts of kindness can only help these poor kids as they move forward… It feels just awful to imagine what will go on inside the hearts and minds of the students who will have to walk through the doors to school again. Having a stuffed animal waiting there – a “fuzzy wuzzy” – just seems like a good idea.”
All of the donated teddy bears will be picked up on December 27th. Word of mouth has resulted in a number of bears being donated already. Our sincere thanks go out to the community for their support.
