Victor Balestri Salon Launches New Beauty Services

, the full-service beauty salon located at 699 Post Road in Scarsdale, has announced the grand opening of several new services including a Facial and Peel Clinic, Gail Marie’s Brow Studio and Hair Braiding Bar.

One of the first full-service salons in Westchester, Victor Balestri has been owned and operated by husband and wife team Cindy and Gennaro Mazza for over 20 years.

“We are very excited to be able to present our clients with these new offerings,” said Ms. Mazza, who believes that staying on top of all the latest trends is key to catering to Victor Balestri’s sophisticated client base. 

“We also wanted to expand our services in order to meet the demands of everyone’s busy lives. Today people really appreciate having one key location where they can have multiple beauty needs met.”

New Customized Skin and Brow Care

The customized skin treatments at the Facial and Peel Clinic range from anti-aging chemical peels to teen skin procedures to back facials and is run by Sherri Prohasza and Debbie Loeb, both graduates of NY School of Esthetics and certified in Advanced Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion. The Brow Studio also caters to men, women and teens and is operated by award-winning eyebrow artist Gail Marie Delbalzo, voted Best Eyebrow artist in Westchester Weddings 2011 and Best Eyebrow Artist in Westchester Magazine 2008. 

Riding The Crest Of The Braid Trend

Victor Balestri’s new Braid Bar comes on the heels of the wildly popular hair braiding trend that has exploded since the success of the movie The Hunger Games, whose heroine Katniss Everdeen dons a fishtail braid. Crown braids, French braids, Dutch braids--you name it--Victor Balestri’s stylists are skilled in all the latest braided looks.

While Ms. Mazza has built her reputation as an expert in hair design, her husband Gennaro is the master colorist who is known for his excellence in full-color and highlighting treatments. He also is a recipient of Best Colorist Award from Elle magazine. “I not only prefer blondes,” said Gennaro jokingly, “but blonds are my specialty.”

In addition to the Mazza’s, the Victor Balestri salon has 10 hair stylists on staff. “Each of our stylists has their own area of expertise so we can meet each clients exact needs,” said Ms. Mazza.

The 80s Are Back

In terms of hair trends beyond braiding, big, full-bodied, “ 80s style” hair is back, according to Ms. Mazza. On the color front, the ombre color trend---darker roots with light highlights on ends--- is still sought after in Westchester, along with customized clip-in or permanent extensions. 

Victor Balestri also offers a full-service nail salon and designer makeup application.  With both prom and wedding seasons just around the corner, Ms. Mazza anticipates business to be brisk.
