Scarsdale firefighters responded to a slate of calls over the past weeks, tackling brush fires and aiding trapped residents. Here's a round-up:

Saturday, April 27, 4:40 p.m. -- Scarsdale firefighters battled a small brush fire on Depot Place beneath the train platform, and used about 450 gallons of water to douse the flames. Train traffic was not stalled; the cause remains unknown.

Saturday, April 27, 9:19 a.m.-- A two-car accident on Drake Road brought out fire authorities, who aided an injured victim and helped clear the roadway. Both cars were towed.
Friday, April 26, 7:24 p.m. -- A motorcycle accident on the Hutchison River Parkway left the biker injured; Scarsdale firefighters responded, along with EMS and county cops, and helped the driver. Authorities also diverted traffic.

Friday, April 26, 9:04 a.m. -- Fire authorities received a call from a Fenimore Road resident who had slipped in the bathtub and was unable to get up and unlock the bathroom door. Firefighters arrived, cut the bolt on the door, and helped the resident, who had no injuries.
Monday, April 22, 10:33 p.m. -- A plastic toaster oven set off fire alarms at a Church Lane house. Firefighters did not have to combat any flames; the homeowner took the toaster outside.
