Cops: Scarsdale Thief Goes on Shopping Spree

Police investigate stolen gift cards, according to authorities.

A thief in Scarsdale pocketed several American Express gift cards and went on a shopping spree, local police said.

Employees at Meritage Properties on Overhill Road in Scarsdale told cops that a stack of gift cards went missing some time last week. The cards—a total of four, with each valued at $100—were pilfered from a desk, cops said.

When police contacted American Express, officials there told cops that the cards had been used to make eight purchases at the Galleria Mall in White Plains, ranging in price from $6.91 to the full $100.
