Give Back: Greenburgh PD Collecting For Rockaways Victims
The Greenburgh Police Benevolent Association is continuing a donations drive for Hurricane Sandy victims. The last day to drop off goods is December 5.
As the holidays approach, there are still many local organizations raising funds and collecting goods to donate to the New York victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Here in Greenburgh, the Police Benevolent Association is keeping its donations drive going. All the donations collected will be dropped off to victims in the Rockaways, Queens.
Folks looking for a nearby donations drive can leave their items at Greenburgh Police Headquarters through December 5. The PBA is collecting items at Police Headquarters located at 188 Tarrytown Road, White Plains.

Donors can make a drop at any time. The PBA is asking that donors notify the desk officer on duty and leave the items at the GPD garage bay. For large donations please call 914-682-5334 or the Police Desk at 914-682-5331.
Here is the list of needed in the Rockaways that the Greenburgh PBA is collecting. Please note, any items not on this list will not be used.

Hurricane Sandy Donations Needed:
- Cleaning supplies (bleach etc., mops, buckets)
- Thick blankets
- Space heaters
- Winter jackets
- Hygiene supplies: toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, baby wipes & hand sanitizer
- Baby diapers
- Bottled water
- Canned foods-please check expiration dates before drop off
- Heavy duty garbage bags
- Work gloves
