Local Acts Share Stage For 'The Last Waltz'

The Last Waltz benefit show, a concert being held in the Irvington Town Hall Theater this Sunday, will recreate The Band’s classic concert film–The Last Waltz. A number of invited guests will come up and play with main act the Rev Tor Band.

For many it's something of a homecoming. 

Rev Tor Band front man Tor Krautter grew up in Edgemont. Krautter's family-owned Sprainbrook Nurseries, recently closed after decades in Scarsdale.

A variety of musical acts are involved in what promises to be an exciting, diverse show with local guests Anthony Giaccio, an Ardsley native, Mark Solare of Tramps Like Us and popular jazz man Gill Pariss.

Many of the acts are originally from here but now live in the Berkshire, MA, area where Todd Mack, an Ardsley native, and Krautter and others met through the music scene there.

Irvington Town Hall is a big place, said Giaccio, though not “as big” as the Tarrytown Music Hall, it's “big enough" and they'd like to fill more seats.

Giaccio said his minor role is more “winging it, so it could be a total surprise,” which certainly is part of the fun.
