Missing Scarsdale Urns Misplaced, Not Swiped: Cops
87-year-old Scarsdale woman fears pricey gifts were stolen.

An 87-year-old Scarsdale resident living on Olmsted Road phoned local cops late last week, telling officers two prized vases had been swiped from atop her mantle, authorities told Patch.
The woman told police that the Meiji vases—made of bronze and worth about $500—had been gifts from her son 30 years ago. She told police she scoured the house searching for them with no luck, and noted the only people able to pilfer the artifacts were the personal trainer, housekeepers or relatives, police said.
Cops responded to the call by visiting the woman's house. Believing the vases were not likely items to be swiped, police performed a search of the home—and uncovered the missing baubles tucked onto a shelf in a different room.
