Man Swears at Cops; Fake Tax Return: Scarsdale Police

A round-up of recent police activity in the village.

A Wildwood Road resident contacted local cops last week when he learned someone had fraudulently filed a tax return in his name, Scarsdale police said.

The village resident saw a red flag when he received a confirmation letter from the IRS noting his taxes had been filed—almost immediately after completing them, police said.

The man told cops his accountant's computer, which is packed with clients' social security numbers and addresses, was recently breached, and could be the crime's catalyst.

A Scarsdale man was handcuffed and carted to county jail last a week after a heated spat with cops, police said.

Police arrived at a Leatherstocking Lane home at about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday of last week to investigate a domestic dispute. While police were interviewing the victim, a 66-year-old man, his son kept interrupting—and yelling obscenities, police said.

"What the f--k are you writing!" the man allegedly hollered, and later added, "suck my d--k you f----t Scarsdale cop!"

When cops when to arrest and handcuff the man, he began flailing, police said, and officers had to place him on the ground.

The man was taken to Scarsdale Village Court, charged with the misdemeanors resisting arrest and obstructing government administration, and later transported to Westchester County Jail when he was unable to post $5,000 bail, police said.
