Scarsdale Police Log: Thief Steals Deceased Man's ID

A 69-year-old Ridgedale Road resident reported to August 15 that an unknown person stole his deceased father's identity in an attempt to make purchases under his name.
According to the police report, the resident said he received in invoice addressed to his father from The Bradford Exchange Online.
The thief used a "bogus" credit card attempting to purchase a "men's three-diamond ring" from the retailer, according to the report.

A supervisor for the Bradford Exchange said the merchandise was ordered online July 6 and was to be shipped to an address in Washington state, according to the report.
Police are investigating.
