"While we're not exactly certain how Hurricane Sandy will affect our area, we've decided to cancel Tony Wagner events for Monday, October 29," Public Information Officer Vicki Presser said in an annoucement.

A new date is to be determined and will be announced, according to Presser.

The Village of Scarsdale is asking residents to remove leaf piles from the street, in "preparation for the impact of Tropical Storm Sandy, which could potentially bring high winds, heavy rain and flooding to our area," according to John Goodwin.

The Village Manager's Office is asking residents to "ensure that no leaf pile is placed on or obstructing a Village catch basin/storm drain. Leaf piles located in the street are traffic hazards for both motorists and pedestrians and can clog catch basins impeding the proper function of the storm drainage system. Please contact your landscaper immediately to ensure compliance."
