HARTSDALE, NY — Your chance to own a rare piece of Westchester County's culinary history, on Old Colony Road in Hartsdale, is here for $1.795 million.
The longtime residence of Jack Tracy, the founder of the iconic Candlelight Inn in Scarsdale and creator of its famous wings, has been listed for sale for the first time in over 50 years.
The listing, by The Zach & Heather Harrison Team at Compass, describes the five-bedroom home on over three quarters of an acre of land as "charming and full of character."

The Colonial "has been lovingly maintained" with a new roof, new siding and updated windows throughout, making it ideal for both everyday living and entertaining. The large living room with a wood-burning fireplace opens "seamlessly" to the dining room, next to the chef's kitchen. A "cozy" library/den and sunroom, with views of the grounds, "provide additional space to relax and unwind." A mudroom leads to a large two-car garage.
The second floor has the primary en-suite along with four additional bedrooms and two full baths. The lower level offers a large recreation room and plenty of storage.

Tracy, who opened the Candlelight Inn in 1955, is said to have developed the now-famous wing recipe in the kitchen of the Old Colony Road home. "What began as a simple, personal dish grew into a regional obsession, drawing lines of loyal patrons, food enthusiasts, and celebrities alike to the Central Avenue landmark," the Harrison Team explained.
"This is more than just a house, it's a part of Westchester's history," said Heather Harrison. "Countless people in this community share memories connected to Candlelight, and this home is where that very story began."
The Candlelight Inn has remained in the Tracy family for almost 70 years and continues to be known for its "convivial atmosphere, late-night hours, and signature wings served in a range of flavors — a style that has become synonymous with the Westchester dining experience."
Over the years, it has attracted a devoted following among locals, athletes, musicians, and actors who consider it a must-stop spot when visiting the area.
"The moment we walked into the kitchen, we could feel the sense of legacy," said Zach Harrison. "It’s rare to represent a property where a local cultural institution was quite literally created on the stovetop."
The home backs to the Greenburgh Nature Center and Scarsdale Golf Club, while being located just a few blocks from the Hartsdale train station, shops, restaurants, and schools.
This property is zoned to the Edgemont School District, with annual taxes estimated at $43,803.
