Update From Village Of Scarsdale Post-Sandy

Here is the latest info from the Village of Scarsdale on post-Sandy cleanup and power restoration.

The following is a message from Stephen Pappalardo, Village of Scarsdale Deputy Village Manager, regarding Hurricane Sandy:

The Department of Public Works continues to clear fallen trees and branches on public roads and opening these roads at all locations where electrical power lines are not involved.Β  A single Con Edison line crew is working with the village to begin the process of de-energizing fallen power lines and removing trees on affected main arterial and collector roads. Con Edison has not committed to any additional crews at this time, so the tree clearing work will continue for a number of days.

In order to assist with the recovery effort the Village is allowing private tree companies working for residents to dispose yard waste other than large logs, at the Recycling Center located at 110 Secor Road.Β  The contractor can dump free of charge until further notice.
