Updated: Tornado Watch and Wet, Windy Weather In Scarsdale

As of this evening, Scarsdale is now included in the New York tornado watch. The watch remains in effect through 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Already, the area has experienced some gusty winds, downpours and stormy conditions. The gusts were strong enough to topple at least one tree in the neighborhood.

Despite a high temperature of 76 degrees today, the balmy weather included 47 mph wind gusts in Scarsdale, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain that dampened the morning and afternoon is expected to continue through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

A wind advisory is in effect until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, according to the NWS.

Thunderstorms are expected before 5:00 a.m. Wednesday and total rainfall amounts could reach two inches, the NWS states. Wednesday will become party sunny, with a high near 70 degrees.
