3 to 9 Years For Teen In Long Island Rape, Stabbing That 'Shocks Conscience': DA
In a home burglary, he raped a young mom, slashed her forehead, and twisted a knife inside her in front of her toddler, DA says.

RIVERSIDE, NY — A 16-year-old from East Patchogue was sentenced three to nine years in prison in an attack on a woman who was raped and stabbed in front of her toddler, Suffolk District Attorney Ray Tierney said.
On April 19, 2022, at around 3:15 p.m., Randell Hollman and an accomplice broke into a house in Mastic Beach after waiting for one of its residents to drive away, and while looking for items to steal, they found a locked bedroom door and kicked it in to gain entry, according to prosecutors.
Inside the bedroom was a 23-year-old mother and her four-year-old daughter, and while the accomplice went through the bedroom looking for property to steal, Hollman, who was 14 years old, sexually assaulted the mother in front of her child, prosecutors said.

Afterward, Hollman slashed the woman across her head and forehead with a switchblade, and stabbed her in her chest, twisting the blade inside of her, prosecutors said, adding that the victim was treated at a local hospital where she received medical treatment, including stitches and staples to her head, face, and chest area.
Tierney called it a crime in which the "brutality shocks the conscience."
“We thank the court for balancing the defendant’s age with the seriousness of the offense," he said. "The impact on the victims cannot be lost, and my office will always do everything in our power to seek accountability and justice, no matter what age a defendant is.”

In December, Hollman pleaded guilty to first-degree rape, assault, and burglary, as well as endangering the welfare of a child.
Once out of prison, Hollman will be required to register as a sex offender.
In a statement to Patch, his attorney, Christopher Gioe of Central Islip, said his client pled guilty and "accepted his sentence."
"After a conversation with Mr. Hollman, he informs me he’s going to get the treatment he needs while in custody and utilize the facilities programs to make a better citizen out of him when he returns to society," he said.
