Bomb Threats In William Floyd School District Found To Be Hoaxes: Cops

Threats were called into three schools over two days; a "male juvenile" was identified as the person responsible, police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — Bomb threats called into William Floyd School District schools this week turned out to be a hoax, Suffolk police said.

Officers received a call on Monday at around 5 p.m. about a bomb threat at Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School, and then calls for more threats were received by police on Tuesday at around 10 a.m. in connection with William Paca Middle School, and then at around 1 p.m. in connection with William Floyd High School, according to police.

No bombs were found in the schools, police said.

Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers, the Digital Forensics Unit, and 7th Squad detectives investigated and identified the "male juvenile" as the person who made the threats, police said, adding that he and his father were interviewed.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
