SHIRLEY, NY — A seven-year-old was honored with the Suffolk County Sheriff's office's Community Leadership Award on Thursday in recognition of her bravery and dedication to others as she continues her battle with cancer, Sheriff Errol Toulon said.
Rayna Graziano, who was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma, received the award at William Floyd Elementary School for “Shaves for a Cure,” which benefits the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Graziano and her mother organized the event.
Each month, Toulon presents the award to residents who go above and beyond to support their communities and make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
