Motorcyclist Dies After Crash With Compact SUV In Suffolk: Police
The Bellport man was taken to Long Island Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead; the other driver was not injured, police said.
MASTIC, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a compact SUV Saturday night in Mastic, Suffolk police said.
Silvano Posadas was driving a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Mastic Road when it struck a northbound 2010 Toyota Matrix that was stopped at the intersection of Somerset Avenue waiting to make a left turn at around 8:45 p.m., according to police.
Posadas, 35, of Bellport, was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Toyota, a 61-year-old Medford woman, was not injured, according to police.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the 7th Squad at 631-852-8752.
